Our Focus

Tools We Use in Individual Therapy Sessions
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy! Every child and family is unique, so we use a variety of tools and methods to meet individual needs.
Depending on age, goals, and personality, approaches may include:
Talk-based and relational therapy
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) strategies
Emotional awareness and regulation skills
Creative expression through art and play
Movement and mindfulness-based activities
Trauma-informed approaches, including EMDR when appropriate
Social, communication, and problem-solving skill development
How Starting Therapy Works at Our Practice
Therapy is a collaborative process.
We begin by meeting with parents to understand your concerns and your child's history. From there, your child participates in an intake and assessment period over three sessions. This allows us to get to know your child, and understand their strengths and needs.
After the assessment period, we meet with parents again to share observations, discuss goals, and create a collaborative treatment plan. Throughout therapy, we continue to partner with parents to track progress, answer questions, and develop supportive strategies that build on the work happening in sessions.
